Realisation of Pan-E telecoms customer projects

Consistent deployment of telecoms infrastructure projects across geographical boundaries & organisations and within budget

Position: Senior pan-European program manager, single point of customer contact
Duration: 1.5 year, various projects & customers
Company: Pan-European Customer Team of a leading US-based global supplier of communications networking equipment with about 100,000 employees worldwide and approximately USD 34 billion in revenues from continuing operations (FY 2000).
15 full time core project team members plus 5-20 ad-hoc & part-time staff

To avoid that pan-European customers (e.g. pan-European ISP’s, inbound US telecoms providers) need to deal with multiple project managers of the local supplier organisations, the pan-European Program Manager was the single point of contact for post-contract issues, guaranteeing cross-border consistency and alignment of solutions, delivered within the agreed budgets and timelines. Examples of projects: pan-European optical backbone, switching networks, intelligent networks, DSL services. Individual project value up to EUR 30M.
